Could you give us a few classics that you love playing out?

Sure..

Mike Dearborn – Birds On E

This one gets whipped out from time to time purely because it’s just flat out, banging acid. Who doesn’t like stuff like this!?

Umek – Meprobamat

On the B side to the much better known Lanicor, this is one of my favourite Umek tunes. He used to do legendary sets at Shine in Belfast and hearing him play this at one of my first times at shine will always stick with me!

D-Saw – Track 10:30

2003, that’s 10 years ago so can that be classed as a classic? I’m including it anyway! Was at Timewarp ages ago and Garnier played this while I was ‘in the zone’….immense tune!

DJ Hell – Hot On The Heels Of Love (Dave Clarke remix)

Pretty much grew up listening to Dave Clarke and this is one of my favourite remixes from him. That big massive fat synth in the middle of the track combined with the heavy kick is all you need really. Granny punching music.

Vapourspace – Gravitational Arch Of 10

Just listen to it! It’s kind of trancey but it’s the perfect set ender.

Music production and history are my biggest passions in life. Though people often say that Techno is faceless and should be about the music blah, blah, blah.. I believe in the need to document the people and stories behind it. Techno is a very small world in reality and I think it needs a proper resource. I hope that everyone who is interested in Techno finds this blog accessible in terms of the way that it is written. I personally prefer to hear the artists voice as loud as the music and never enjoy synopsised and pasteurised versions of old conversation; the sort that's peppered with the occasional quote here and there.
