EOMAC _ EOMAC EP [ACPR018]

Acroplane’s latest one is an EP by Dublin based, Eomac; who is also one half of Lakker.

It fits into the “Future Garage, Electronica and Electro..” catagories – but there are definitely heavy Autechre / Broken Beat Techno leanings on the last track – “The Feeling”.

This is wicked music.

I really like what Acroplane do – and this doesn’t disappoint. The press release says that AFX was playing unreleased Eomac stuff in his sets and I’d well believe it.

SO..

Apache gets the show on the road with its subtly bitcrushed synth. Eomac roughs it up further with vinyl crackle, which sounds really fresh to my ears, really lifting it. The partnership of the bass and drums in this track is immense.. and what about the atmosphere / vocals? Eomac has got some serious skills.

Dramutic is a slower track – more electronic in style. The way the vocals are processed is jaw droppingly cool. The synths in this track sound amazing – just as if they were playing through a badly tuned radio – Always a plus haha. Seriously good music.

My mouth doesn’t have time to close as Slide FX begins. The way the synth initially sounds so scuzzy – then the way it surges up into an even dirtier filtered delay – is pure class. Couple that with the tuned kick line and FFS!! Great track!!

It’s Nice To Be Where Nobody Is – is a gorgeous track with a gorgeous pad. The drums are falling loosely all over, while a fucked up Wub pushes the groove forward. Later, there are epic moments when the higher pad sounds come in. I love the amount of grit in these tracks.

The Feeling is the perfect track to finish on. The kick pattern with its subby tail is SO good. I’d have easily listened to 5mins of that alone tbh. As the fucked synths creep in, you get a glimpse of where this track is going to go. It reminds me of the very best Autechre melodies. It’s huge. Epic shit. The production has just the right amount of subtle glitch, which never ruins the timeless vibe of this track. It wouldn’t have been as classy as this otherwise. The vocals in it are bang on too. Absolutely love it. Definitely going to have to go on an Eomac fact-finding mission after hearing this I think haha 🙂

Available to buy Monday 18th June from Bleep, Boomkat, Itunes, Juno, Addictech and most other good online stores.

Music production and history are my biggest passions in life. Though people often say that Techno is faceless and should be about the music blah, blah, blah.. I believe in the need to document the people and stories behind it. Techno is a very small world in reality and I think it needs a proper resource. I hope that everyone who is interested in Techno finds this blog accessible in terms of the way that it is written. I personally prefer to hear the artists voice as loud as the music and never enjoy synopsised and pasteurised versions of old conversation; the sort that's peppered with the occasional quote here and there.
