Timothy Alexander _ Untitled [DCR06]

A seriously strong release from TA and Diacope Records.. which features the raw and uncompromising beats that this label prides itself on.

With Diacope’s 6th release, Timothy Alexander returns with another 3 powerful pieces.

Untitled I stands out as a destroyer of worlds. With its jet engine drone, broken beat kicks and atonal clanging – it builds into a steady groove before releasing the tension with a spray of pure filth. Class.

Untitled II‘s initial distorted kicks are later transformed by a fresh hat & percussion pattern, which provides a great example of how Alexander consciously balances pummel with funk.

Untitled III has a wicked “what the fuck” sound, akin to a malfunctioning and bitcrushed computer. It underpins the track nicely as it develops into a vaguely melodic and brutal slab of techno.

Previous releases have had support from Surgeon, Dave Clarke, Gary Beck, Grovskopa, Casual Violence, Audio Injection and Vince Watson, Tommy Four Seven, Chris Liebing, Ancient Methods and Audio Injection/Truncate.. to name BUT A FEW 🙂

This will undoubtedly be snapped up too.

Music production and history are my biggest passions in life. Though people often say that Techno is faceless and should be about the music blah, blah, blah.. I believe in the need to document the people and stories behind it. Techno is a very small world in reality and I think it needs a proper resource. I hope that everyone who is interested in Techno finds this blog accessible in terms of the way that it is written. I personally prefer to hear the artists voice as loud as the music and never enjoy synopsised and pasteurised versions of old conversation; the sort that's peppered with the occasional quote here and there.
